Cathi Locati is a fine art painter specializing in custom made fine art, figurative and
portrait photo-realism. Born in Washington State and raised in Montana, Cathi taught
herself to be an artist and has been painting on commission for over 30 years. Cathi is
also well-rounded in the business of art with over 25 years in sales and marketing.
She is a former Miss Montana USA, holds her BA in Communications, was an Account Executive
with Corporate Kinkos and currently offers Lord and Lady of the Manor life size portraits
on commission and teaches private drawing classes and portrait tutoring classes in-home.
In 2007, Cathi moved to Westchester County and opened Cathi Locati Galleri in Ossining but
currently lives and works from her studio in Tarrytown.
Hudson Harbor Development in Tarrytown chose Cathi to produce a 4 1/2 ft x 17 1/2 ft
oil painting on loose canvas of the Tappan Zee Bridge and Palisades skyline as seen from
Hudson Harbor. Her realistic style combined with her ability to communicate with
her client provides an exact image in the specific colors of the interior décor of the
lobby entrance inside the Stonehouse.
The large format painting titled: "Working Water" depicts the lively, functioning, working
body of water that is the Hudson River. Cathi's work is showcased from the West coast to
the East coast and the Cayman Islands as well as many successful showings in New York
galleries including Locati's collection of female empowerment: "Women of the New Millennium"
at Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in Chelsea in 2007.
In the spirit of the Obama era, Locati opened the grand scale collection of 15
paintings titled: "Comfortable in my Skin - a Sign of our Times" at Piermont Flywheel
Gallery in 2008 and Manhattan in 2009. Locati presented her entire line of signed,
numbered, limited edition giclee prints and originals from her Early Works collection at
Art Expo 2007.
She has been chosen as one of the participating artists to produce her
version of the Funny Face logo for the Coney Island USA fundraiser while pursuing other
possible full-time employment projects with Red Bull and the Brad Kroenig Foundation.
Cathi enjoys membership at the National Arts Club on Gramercy Park in NYC.
As muralist for the Hudson Harbor Development in Tarrytown, Cathi's custom made fine
art skills are being demonstrated on a daily basis as she paints on location now through
the end of November inside the lobby of the Stonehouse entrance. (Between Tarrytown Metro-north
train station and the river, next to Striped Bass restaurant). Feel free to stop in and
say hello.
Cathi encourages personal contact with interested parties and is scheduling new commissions.
