Cathi Locati is an international figurative and portrait realism painter.
A childhood prodigy, Cathi has been painting and drawing for over 30 years.
Born in Washington state, raised in Montana and having lived seven years in
Utah, Cathi's artistic goals focus on residing in the epicenter of the
global art world: New York.
Cathi has had little formal training in painting and holds a BA in Communications.
She has painted part time for the last 17 years as a single mother while working
full-time corporate jobs. Cathi's persistence with her talent has seen her
through many of life's adversities including spinal injuries where she
continues to paint regardless.
Cathi's diversity as a painter and corporate executive include other pursuits such
as Miss Montana USA and 25 years experience in sales and marketing. Cathi has always
loved capturing likenesses and at 15 years old started drawing sketches of friends.
She learned to paint realism after one basic portrait class in 1989 at the age of 27.
She concentrates her expertise on the human face and figure with oil on canvas
paintings usually large format. She is a painter of people.
She is the official artist of one of America's first female pilots, Julie Clark.
Two Cathi Locati original works in Julie's private collection are slated for future
Smithsonian Placement in Aviation History. In December 2005 Cathi was catapulted into
the upper echelon elite world of global art when she sold a 6ft x 4ft. original oil
titled: "Destination Known" depicting a cowgirl lying in a bed of tulips for $38,000
out of Park City, Utah. Using her corporate sales and marketing experience, Cathi has
secured two representing galleries in New York: Piermont Flywheel Gallery and
Amsterdam Whitney International Fine Art Gallery with both artist's openings in 2007.
A pilot TV Documentary has been produced about Cathi the Painter.
Cathi is owner of Locati Artisan, Inc. which provides custom made fine art, portraits
and figurative realism to elite clientele by commission. Cathi can paint any subject
matter you may need for your residence or business any size, to perfectly match couches,
curtains and wall colors: thus, custom made fine art.
To expand and make available to more collectors, Cathi has selected the Giclee on
canvas process for creating images. Signed and numbered Limited Edition Giclees of
Locati's "Early works, 1989-2006" are available for purchase on this website. The
Limited Edition Giclees on canvas are limited to small runs no larger than 295 with
10 A/P personally embellished by the artist. Cathi's originals sell for $3,000 to $50,000
with the Limited Edition Giclee prices ranging from $900 to $9700.
